What is Rise & Thrive Academy?

Rise & Thrive Academy is a personalized academic coaching and college admissions guidance service dedicated to helping high school students discover their unique strengths and develop "spikes" to make them a very competitive applicant for top colleges. Our mission is to transform each student into the best version of themselves by creating a tailored roadmap for academic, extracurricular, and personal success.

How do you help students stand out in a competitive admissions landscape?

Beyond excellent grades and test scores, we focus on developing a unique personal narrative. This includes identifying key interests, guiding innovative extracurricular projects, and connecting students  and networks at top universities to ensure their application makes a lasting impression

Our comprehensive support includes helping with the Common App, crafting compelling essays, building impressive resumes, and even setting up profiles on platforms like CollegeVine and LinkedIn. This ensures that every aspect of your child’s application is polished and competitive.

What role do extracurricular activities play in your program?

We guide students in selecting clubs, leadership roles, and passion projects that align with their interests and their academic goals. Whether it’s launching a non-profit, engaging in research projects, or competing in state-level science fairs, our goal is to create a well-rounded and impressive extracurricular profile.

How are parents involved in the process?

We believe that a collaborative approach is essential. In addition to student-focused sessions, we hold dedicated meetings with parents to ensure that the family is aligned with the student’s goals and that progress is communicated regularly throughout the high school years.

At what point do you start working with students?

Our guidance begins as early as the 8th grade or beginning of high school, ensuring that students have ample time to build a compelling profile that evolves with their interests and goals throughout high school.

How do you personalize the college admissions process?

We take a one-on-one approach to understand each student’s passions and academic aspirations. By conducting in-depth assessments (including psychometric tests and detailed autobiographies), we design a unique roadmap that highlights their “spikes” – those exceptional strengths that make them stand out to college admissions officers.

What type of test preparation support is provided?

We assist students in deciding whether the SAT or ACT best suits their strengths and provide resources such as practice tests, personalized study plans, and access to top preparatory materials (including Princeton Review, Kaplan, and Magoosh subscriptions) to boost performance. One of our target for every student to achieve National Merit Scholar (Top 1% Nation wide high schoolers) that gets them lot of scholarships for college education

How do you support college applications?

Our comprehensive support includes helping with the Common App (Up to 10 colleges), crafting compelling essays, building impressive resumes, and even setting up profiles on platforms like CollegeVine and LinkedIn. This ensures that every aspect of your child’s application is polished and competitive.

How do you assist with scholarship and financial aid planning?

Recognizing that college expenses can be daunting, we work closely with families to strategize financial planning. This includes exploring merit scholarships, advising on 529 plans and prepaid options, and assisting with FAFSA and CSS applications to maximize financial aid opportunities.

There is no concept of merit scholarship at Ivy colleges,  but several of the top 30 private schools offer merit scholarships including full tuition. So imagine paying $20K/year vs $100K/year if your students get one of them.
